Colorado Trip Part Four: Tunnel Drive Trail

This is part 4 of our Colorado trip. If you want to see more, check out parts one two, and three.

Tunnel Drive Trail in Cañon City, Colorado is absolutely gorgeous! It's an easy hike after you get up the hill at the beginning. At least the part we did was flat and easy - as usual, we got there later than we wanted to and didn't have nearly as much time there as we would have liked before the sun went down. The kids loved going through the tunnels. I loved them photographically speaking, but as far as actually going through them, I freaked out a little bit (or maybe a lot) because we saw some bats the first time then had to go back through them to get to the parking lot. The view all along this trail was gorgeous. I also learned to be really careful around cacti. I accidentally stepped on one and I was still finding spines in my foot the next morning. And that was wearing trail runners, I'm so glad it was fall, otherwise I would have been wearing my Keen sandles and that would have hurt a lot worse! But the view was worth the pain anyway.
