Senior Session Information

Location

Some of my favorite locations to use are Fowler Park, Dobbs Park, Deming Park, The ISU and St. Mary's, and Rose Hulman campuses, Fairbanks Park, Bridgeton, downtown Terre Haute, the Rockville square, and a few places I know in Clinton. Your high school is a great option too, especially if you play a sport and we can use the field.

Preparation

You can bring whatever props you want, but they're never necessary, just a fun addition. If you play a sport or instrument it's always a great idea to include those in a few shots, but I've also had seniors bring their favorite books or their pets, and I've even photographed one senior in the science lab at his school. Think about what makes you you and we'll figure out a way to show that in your photos! If you have any questions or any ideas you want to run by me, don't hesitate to reach out!

What to Wear

You can bring as many outfits as you'd like, but most seniors bring 2 or 3. Anymore than that and you'll spend more time changing than being photographed! It's a great idea to wear layers as an easy way to add variety. I typically recommend at least one dressy outfit and one more casual, then add another if you want a sports uniform, dance costume, etc. Definitely bring your letter jacket if you have one!

Guys, I recommend a button-up shirt (with or without a tie) and dark jeans or dress pants for one outfit, then another outfit in whatever your typical style is. Pay attention to your shoes and socks, they will be seen!

Girls, I recommend a dress or skirt for one outfit, then jeans and a cute top or whatever your typical style is for the other. Don't wear anything too low cut or short, just because that limits how you can pose. I recommend you wear makeup even if you normally don't - it really makes a difference in the photos! That being said, I don't advise going overboard with it, especially if you don't wear much on a regular basis - you still want to look like yourself!

What to Expect

Short & Sweet Sessions last 20-30 minutes and I try to keep Classic Sessions to 90 minutes. Sometimes it does take a little longer if we walk around a lot, so I recommend planning for 2 hours just so you’re not stressed about the time. There may or may not be bathrooms available, depending on the location you choose and the time of year, so be prapared to change in your car if necessary!

I will absolutely tell you exactly how to pose, so don't worry about that! The most important thing is to relax and enjoy your session! If you have ideas or poses you want to try, just let me know! A lot of seniors will have a Pinterest board or a collection of saved photos on Instagram - if you do, feel free to send them to me or show at your session. Your photos won't be an exact copy, but if you have something particular in mind I want to make sure you get it!

I’ll get a sneak peek up for you the day after your session (or on Monday if your session is on a Saturday). I’ll post a few more as I edit and you’ll have your completed gallery within two weeks. As soon as your gallery is ready, I’ll email you a link to that with instructions for downloading files and ordering prints. You’ll have the opportunity to order professional prints through your gallery, or you can download the files and order prints at any lab you choose. You’ll also be able to easily share your photos on social media.
