Terre Haute Wedding Photographer {Sunny + Matt}

Sunny and Matt's wedding day was pretty amazing. They had their sweet, original, perfectly them, ceremony at White Chapel on the campus of Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, then a lovely and delicious dinner at Stables Steakhouse with their family and friends, followed by a walk to Bluesfest in downtown Terre Haute.

I met up with Matt and his groomsmen at Candlewood Suites for a few "getting ready" shots, then headed across the street to the Hilton to meet up with Sunny and her bridesmaids.

Sunny's dress was absolutely fabulous, as were her bridesmaids.

I love photographing brides at the Hilton. The light is always wonderful!

Sunny was one of the happiest brides I've photographed. The whole day was filled with so much laughter!

Sunny's maid of honor (also named Sunny!) took a few minutes to put the finishing touches on her toast.

The rings and jewelry were fabulous too.

Sunny added these pins from her grandma and beads that were handmaid by her stepmom to her bouquet. It was beautiful!

See? I told you her dress was amazing!

Sunny was such a beautiful and happy bride!

Matt and Sunny chose to do a first look. Check out this post to see why I think first looks are such a great idea.

I love this series of photos. After the first look, Sunny started spinning and I just loved the way her dress floated around her so I asked her to move about a foot over into this fabulous light and do it again. And again. And again.

These photos were taken in the lobby of the Hilton right before we headed out to White Chapel.

White Chapel is, in my humble opinion, the prettiest (indoor) wedding location in Terre Haute. There are a few times of day when the light is a little tricky but for the most part it is filled with beautiful, soft, light. making it a fabulous place for photos.

Sunny's and Matt's families were just as wonderful as them. I loved spending the day with all of them!

Thanks to Jennifer Coleson for this set of photos below. She was my second shooter for the day and did a wonderful job. I can't wait to work with her again!

After the family photos Sunny sequestered herself in the back to wait for the ceremony to start.

Sunny's sister Faith served as the flower girl/ring bearer/junior bridesmaid. She is quite the multi-tasker! Again, thanks to Jennifer for capturing these two photos below.

Matt's dad and Sunny's mom both did readings at the beginning of the ceremony, her from The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran and he from A Year with C.S. Lewis: Daily Readings from His Classic Works.

There were lots of smiles, laughter, and happy tears during the ceremony.

I've never seen ribbon sticks used for a wedding exit before, but it was adorable. They thought it was so much fun they did it a second time in slow motion!

After the ceremony and a few more family photos, Matt and Sunny sent their guests ahead to the reception and we stayed to take a few more photos of the bridal party.

I don't remember what Matt was saying about his ring, but she was clearly impressed by it! We all make a big deal about the bride's ring, but grooms are excited to wear theirs too!

I could have taken photos of them on campus all day. The light was just right and they were so natural in front of the camera.

The outside of White Chapel is as photogenic as the inside.

Then it was on to a reception at Stables Steakhouse. Once again, they made it perfectly personalized with records serving as decoration, a guest book, and even placemats. obviously, they love music!

No boring white cake here.

Since their guest list was small and the reception was so relaxed, we were able to get photos of each guest, which is something I don't think I've ever been able to do.

We slipped out for a few minutes before the toasts to get a few more photos. These were taken just across the street from stables and the next ones were right outside Stables.

After a little more eating (including the best cheesecake I've ever tasted!), the toasts, a lot more talking and laughing, it was time to head to Bluesfest. When I first talked with Sunny, she mentioned that this was the reason they chose this weekend to get married and I was so excited. It definitely did not disappoint. This was my first time there (I know - I'm a boring, boring person!) and it was pretty awesome.

They both got lots of congratulations from those in the crowd, from friends and strangers alike.

I spent about an hour at Bluesfest with them, but I'm sure they celebrated much later! It was a pretty perfect end to a pretty perfect day!
