Happy 4th of July! {Clinton, Indiana photographer}

Happy 4th of July! I'm sad that our fireworks got cancelled because of the drought, but for those of you lucky enough to be seeing some tonight, here's a couple of tips. For photos that actually look like fireworks, use an ISO of about 100 or 200, an aperture of at least 9, with a bulb setting for shutter speed. I usually leave the shutter open for a few seconds. Use a tripod if possible. This is all if you're using a DSLR, of course. Some point and shoots have a fireworks setting, so if your's does, just use that.

If you want to have a little fun, disregard that part about the tripod and just wave the camera around instead. I did a whole series of those a few years ago and loved them.

Have fun and enjoy the 4th!
