Now that the kids are back in school, I finally have time to blog some of thousands of photos I took of them over the summer.

We crammed a lot into those 11 weeks out of school - lots of trips to the library, art projects, an art class for Abbie, Abbie's dance recital, Cub Scout camp for Joey, lots and lots of bike rides, sleepovers, bug catching, and lazy couch potato days. We also took two trips - one to St. Louis (went to the Museum of Transportation, the Arch, the zoo, Magic House, CityGarden, and the Laumeier Sculpture Park) and Indiana Dunes/Chicago (we went to the beach, Millennium Park, Navy Pier, and the Museum of Science and Industry. Oh, and Giordanno's pizza, of course).

So...lots of fun, great memories made, but boy am I glad that school's started up again. I'll be even more glad once Jonah gets more used to sleeping in his new big boy bed - nap time has been a little rough around here the past couple of weeks!

I met up with Maddie and her mom last week for her senior photoshoot. We had a great time and got some awesome images. She had two different family friends bring two cars and a motorcycle for the session. I love, love, love it when seniors have fun ideas to make their sessions unique!

For a little something different, Maddie also brought this adorable outfit.

This is week 32 for the This is Our Life project and the theme is "truth."

The ultimate truth is God's word. Other things, other people might fail me and might mislead me, but God never will. Do I understand, or even like, everything the Bible says? No. But I know it's true, even if I don't understand it. I know that my Redeemer lives, and that's enough for me.

Yup...it's official. I feel old now. My niece is getting ready to start her senior year. My tiny little, 3lb, 3oz, 12-weeks-early niece is almost all grown up.

Erin is such a cool girl. I'm so proud of her and her awesome attitude. She's not one to care much what other people's opinions of her are, or mindlessly follow trends, or try to be popular just for the sake of being popular. She's thoughtful and sweet and would never do anything to purposefully hurt someone else's feelings. And she's just awesome.

We went out last weekend for her first round of senior photos. We're also planning mini sessions with her homecoming dress and letter jacket/senior jeans. Perks of having a photographer for an aunt, I guess!

This is week 31 for the This is Our Life project and the theme is "pretend."

Jonah is two and just starting to pretend. Sometimes he'll say "I a BEAR! RAAAWWRRR!" Or he'll walk around panting like a dog, or he'll pretend to talk on the phone. Yesterday, probably inspired by Jack, he decided to be Superman. He came up to me holding this cape and said "I be SUPERMAN!" Joey taught him to say "Superman to the rescue!" and he spent a good part of the afternoon pretending to fly around the yard. He's such a fun little guy!

I ran a special last month for returning clients, but this month I want to do something special for NEW clients! If you've never had a session with me before, you can get $50 off your session fee (click here for current pricing) AND a 16x24 canvas print of your favorite image from the session.

You can schedule your session for anytime this year, but it needs to be booked with deposit paid by the end of the month to get the special pricing.

Also, just a little reminder: fall is a super busy time for me, so if you have your heart set on a fall session, please contact me soon!

And just because I hate to post without a photo...here's my daughter leaping into Lake Michigan on our trip up to Indiana Dunes last month. :-)
